The Look of Love, a new work by Mark Morris that riffs on Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s legendary song catalog, is currently enjoying a brief run at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). For the show’s costumes, which capture the choreographer’s exuberant celebration of music, he tapped his frequent collaborator (and friend) Isaac Mizrahi.

In “The Look of Love,” his latest evening-length work for the Mark Morris Dance Group, he explores the work of the late composer Burt Bacharach — in particular, the chart-topping singles he created in the 1960s with lyricist Hal David, most of them for singer Dionne Warwick. Bacharach died Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 94.

This month, Cal Performances welcomes back longtime artistic partner, Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG), for the Bay Area premiere of Morris' latest creation, "The Look of Love: An Evening of Dance to the Music of Burt Bacharach."
